The Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE)The Tokyo Stock Exchange is the second biggest stock exchange in the world, in terms of market capitalisation. Companies indexed by TSE have a total market capitalisation of 4 trillion USD. TSE is also one of the oldest stock exchanges in the world, with the first day of trading dating back on the 1st of June, 1878. The TSE is also the biggest of Japan's five stock exchanges, with over 1.5 million shares being traded each day. Shares are traded in a computerised environment where sellers and buyers interact together without any mediation. As such, the trading floor has been replaced from this system. |
